Bernard Ogbe Factfile

Naija Premier League Award winner for January, Bernard Ogbe, is one of the longest serving managers in the league.

Ogbe beat other managers to win the award in January.

"It's great to be recognised for the work at Gombe United. It's a journey and we still have a lot of work to do" he said to nplawards.blogspot.com.

The Benue state born tactician has managed top sides like Plateau United and Nigerdock amongst others in the defunct Division One League.

His impressive record at Niger Tornadoes is yet to be equalled.

Ogbe led Tornadoes, as a second division team to defeat title-favourites, Enugu Rangers, in the 2000 Coca-Cola FA Cup (now Federation Cup), after winning the bronze medal in 1999.

He also led the second division team to the quarter-finals of the 2001 Mandela Cup, (now Caf Confederations Cup).

A request from the Nasarawa State government to assist in the formation of a team led to his exit from the Minna side. To his credit, Ogbe recruited players that formed the team.

He returned to Tornadoes again and led the club to win the bronze medal in the 2006 Coca-Cola FA Cup.

Today, his magic has turned Gombe United into the revelation of the present season.
